Arlington Park Race 9 no bets if off the turf
1, Now: Comes off a 7 month layoff and could need a race or two. This level of racing should be too tough for her.
1A, Home's The Best: No bets if off the turf.2, Quiet Queen: Cost herself some ground with the bad break in her last. Tried to make up ground over a soft track may have took a lot out of her. She's still a threat here but don't take the times from Gulfstream as gospel, that turf course still propels runners forward.
3, Funny Girl Rachel: Shortens up but so does three others runners she tangled with in her last. Made a move to leaders but couldn't keep the pace. Moves inside today but should only be alive for minor rewards.
4, Pure Baby: Benefited and victimized at the same time by the soft turf course. While she led setting decent fractions the heaviness of the soft course zapped her energy. Shortens up and her early speed will have to re-emerge today to give her any chance. She should figure in the bottom of the gimmicks
5, Lil Minnlet: She has the speed to win this one. Could be sharper in her second off the layoff. What can kill her is all the other runners entered here with early speed. She could be pressed into going faster then she can handle. But if you're into long shots this is your runner.
6, Neon Lipstick: Any other rider and maybe, just maybe she can be looked at as a possible upset runner. Takes a big class drop and has shown late speed in the past. Her speed figures are good enough to make me look at her twice for gimmick usage.
7, Sweet Aptitude: Not today. Not against these. Not for me.
8, Lucky Copy: She can come off the layoff to win. Her rankness in her last two races concerns me. She cuts back a notch in distance but her speed could come up short in this one. She can win but I will use her underneath.
9, Rain Shower: Needs these runners to come back to her and it could happen if speed duels break out. The troubled trip in her last may have cost her some ground. Loses the blinkers and her good late speed can see her run into the superfecta.
10, Slewfoundmoney: Just not good enough to beat these. She's faced tougher and faster and this pace setter will have a battle on her hands/hooves from the start. Loses Douglas and this is what will probably keep her off the board.
11, Thousandkissesdeep: Early speed horse switches to turf and if allowed to ruin unpressured could go a long way. That's not likely to happen in this race with all the early speed. Faces allowance runners again and will need her best. She could last for the superfecta at least.
12, Tour D'aura: Should be a step slower at this level of racing. Her rivals in here are a step faster. She did beat $40K claimer at Hawthorne last fall but this will be a major test for her.
