Evangeline Downs Race 4
, Burnin Feva: Tracked what could be considered a torrid pace for that class level. Shouldn't have to go that fast tonight. A rated ride with the rail can see him loom boldly for the win
, Supprise Us: His second off the layoff and even if he improves shouldn't get a pace to allow him to move toward a lower gimmick spot finish as he did in his last. If this field doesn't back up to him and it shouldn't, he won't be a threat.
, Carter's Cash: If he isn't the pace setter, he can track the pace and make a bid as they hit the stretch. Late pace figures and second off the layoff give him a slight edge in deep stretch. Only has to run his normal race to have a chance to win.
, Believe In Johhny: Drops in class and shortens up but showed nothing against slower rivals in his first off the layoff. He should finish up the track
, Money Marquet: Shortens up but should be no factor in this one.
, Zahaazeh: Distance could be his biggest foe but can move forward in second off the layoff. Extends a notch after tiring badly in deep stretch going slightly shorter then he will now. Could add value to superfecta.
, Wicked Vice: Back pedaled from the start of his last race. He doesn't show much speed and I don't think he will factor tonight.
, Classic Gun: He's generally a even paced runner who is just good enough to make it into the superfecta. His record at this track isn't good at all and he will need to be all out to get that superfecta spot. With the off track could move forward.
, Classic Rule: Should get a softer pace to go against tonight and will probably be able to pass enough tired runners to vie for a gimmick spot. Breaks from post position 9 and will need a smart ride from Carmouche.
, Singanddancer: Takes a class drop and stretches out. His "early" speed should reappear tonight with the subdued pace I expect and this can help him here. Speed figures rate pretty well but I'm not sure he can figure for more then a trifecta/superfecta position.
, Jackie's Intent: Too slow and I would be surprise to see him among leaders.
, Super Bowl Affair: Cuts back and drops down a step. At one point in his career looked to maybe have just enough speed to figure in the superfecta. Now should struggle to keep pace.
, Charming Triste: He shortens up and drops down. This should allow him to factor in this race if he is held off the pace and try to come late for minor rewards.
, Ray's Lil Man: Has the speed but breaks from the extreme outside post. Has to get position quickly or risk being caught wide for more then the turn. Can improve in his second off the layoff. St Julien isn't riding well but should be able to get into the money with any type of good ride.
