10 Cent Superfecta Wagering Strategies by Dominic Godwinson
The 10-cent superfecta offers the most for your betting dollar than all the other exotic bets shown on the Kentucky Derby's horse wagering menu. As soon as it was introduced in the mid-2000s, this betting strategy became extremely popular with gamblers who wanted to earn a huge return from a small investment. However, the majority of bettors tend to go too far when making 10-cent pluperfect bets by over-spreading them in bad positions or failing to utilize the appropriate key-horse and boxing methods. In this article, you will learn several basic tips and strategies regarding 10-cent superfecta gambling that help make more money at the race track.
The Four-Horse Box
Out of all the superfecta strategies, the Four-Horse Box is possibly the most widely executed because the gambler can get away with making a very low investment. All you have to do is spend $2.40 to box four horses that you believe may hit the board and you will get a bunch of racing action. The Four-Horse Box strategy is best for field sizes of eight or less horses. With each extra horse on the field, your chance at getting a super will be significantly decreased. So go with a single long shot and if it places first or second for a large price, you can reap the reward of a nice payday.
Do Not Use the Five-Horse Box
In some cases, a player will attempt to cover additional positions with the five-horse box when the four-horse version proves unsuccessful. With the five-horse box, you can cover 120 different combinations. And if you have ever done any handicapping on a race, you probably know this is too much. Four-horse boxes are fun, small bets. Five-horse boxes cost five times the amount and in addition, you will be stuck with a few lousy horses.

I agree with most of this, with a couple of tweaks.
(1) Four horse boxes. They are okay, but.....
In fields of 8 or less, SFCs are hardly worth playing at all - especially with standard takeouts.
If you really like a horse or two in a shortish field, you have to key on those horses in the WP slots.
Otherwise, you spread too much, and either dilute your winnings, or increase your losses.
(2) Hitting the "all" button for the 4th spot is debatable. I try to avoid it.
In some cases, I concur, but for horses with many races in their PPs who just can't run fast enough, I will take a stand and leave them out.
Lightly raced, or first timer starters - leave them out of the 4th spot at your peril!
The dime SFC is a terrific wagering opportunity for all players, but especially for those with smaller bankrolls.
Patience is required, along with a knack of sitting out races where your selections are too short priced.
When you handicap races that offer longshot possibilities - that is where the money is.
Your ability to identify those races, and the live longshots within them, is your edge.
Remember - the public always will bet chalk. Finding the races with vulnerable favorites should be your mission.
A 10 cent increment SFC ticket with the right combos can get you an entire pool to yourself - or a large chunk of one.
That is a whole lot of clout for a very modest wager!

This is the easiest thing to say, but the hardest thing to do.
Last Saturday I found 12 races with vulnerable favorites to bet against.
The end results was that the supposedly vulnerable favorites won 11 of the 12 races & my 8/1 ML horse won at 5/2 in the other one.
I was in a bad favorites contest on another website.
When the contest was over the bad favorites selected by all participants won 35% of the time.
The same result that you would have gotten by selecting favorites randomly.
All don't forget that nice supers can be hit with a solid favorite, when the rest of the field is evenly matched or horrible.

i giive the ML a quick glance
and look for some good scrs
after that pic my best jockeys in the spots
wager anywhere from 2.70 to 10.80
for 10.80 you get 1 2 3 / 1 2 3 4/ 1 2 3 4 5 6/1 2 3 4 5 6
this allows me to toss in one of my favorite jockey/trainer connections on ^odds horse
or el cheapo
1/ 123/123/123456 works cheaply and effectively
use in harness -- this little trick
bet all races same wager ***when*** my best drivers are in the best positions to win
ex-- harrington- cory calahan- 2 spot most the night
hit up all races- 2/ 1 3 5/1 3 4 5/ 1 3 4 5 6 personally done this spending only few dollars
and hit 240. and 260 in one night at indiana , done it plenty there

this is the way i play them.
I usually play 3 different tickets
1/2,3,4/2,3,4,5/2,3,4,5,6 = $2.70
2,3,4/1/2,3,4,5/2,3,4,5,6 = $2.70
2,3,4/2,3,4,5/1/2,3,4,5,6 = $2.70
$8.10 for alot of coverage.... Your top pick key in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd spot.

Great info guys,
Spicy has a great point about the buggy tracks-
Harrington is an example of where this system really works especially paying attention to the drivers.
If you check out the tipsheet on their website, Matt the capper usually tells you which 2 ponies the driver had their picks of, and this info is really important. Most people won't bet on the outside posts there, but if the driver chose one of those posts anyway, look out!

This is how I play them.

$6 and it allows a lot of coverage once you pick your winner.

No because if the #2 comes in 2nd it can not come in 3rd or 4th.
The same for the other numbers.
$6.00 is correct.

In Canada it would be $12.00 because we only have .20cent supers plus .20 cent pick 4,s and NO tax with held !

I enjoy playing it like that, because it allows me to still hadicap the winner and if it does win, I still have most or half the field to come in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th and for only $6 a race.

I can help when it comes showing false favorite. I created a software just for that problem. Send me an message and i will tell you if there is one any race.

Gulfstream is a great track to play dimer supers. I look for a price horse that might be 10-1 or higher and key him 3rd and fourth with 3 that i feel will win.Example is 1,2,3/all/all 4 and 1,2,3/all/4/all then i do a 4/1,2,3 exacta box in case he runs 1st or 2nd with my three winners.using this system, i have hit many sighner dimes, because of the big fields at Gulfstream.

The dime p6 is a great bet right now because of all the money being put in it.remember it has a 52% take out,worst in the country.Because of all the money being bet each day,the payoffs for multi tickets has been great. The best day to play this bet is closing day.
