At another forum, I started probably their most successful thread with currently over 30,000 views and growing. The idea came from the Seinfeld show being about nothing. It is an off-topic thread. I'd like to do the same here in the Corner. Instead of being a thread about nothing, we'll call it a thread about something-- Something other than horse racing. (We'll leave the other forum with nothing.) So with that idea. I'll kick it off with nothing, or something -- whatever.

Getting ready to go to work. Need to start the pot roast in the slow cooker before I leave.

Been wanting to start a discussion about mentoring. I think it is lacking in TB handicapping and to the detriment of the sport. Just trying to read and understand the form by yourself is enough to make you a not so serious capper/player. I don't know what it is about it (maybe the fact it's paramutial) but you can ask someone at an otb what they think and you receive sour comments if any at all. I feel like they are holding the secrets of the world and cannot disclose them to anyone. There just does not seem to be discussions as to why did you choose this racer over that racer and what was the reasoning behind it. Where and what did you use to determine you choices or was it a gut thing??? Any interest????Or, is this some of those SECRET things we just don't talk about??? If it were not for this site and many of the friendly folks here my interest would have wained to non-existance. So Mr. Liam keep doing what you do. rc

Back in Grand Forks, and I don't know if I like horse racing anymore, it seems I'm trying to be something I am not.

You ever feel that way, or only after to lose your bankroll, and then when you get your next one, you feel okay again?

I knwo when I have time and do my homework, I find the winners, but I still manage to leave the track with very little $$$, thinking that I was that close to it, what ever it is...loser's depression, maybe?? If so, then maybe I do need a break from this.

Thank you for the kinds words, Sir.

But I and a few others, know you could never do well with other people's stuff, you need to be in control and do well at it too, I saw you at work, very impressive, your own program that you have total control over works for some people, for me I should go back to the old ways and use the Paper Edition of DRF, but then I would need to wear my reading glasses, but at least I did better then , now using software and playing too many tracks, may just be too ,much for feeble mind to handle, maybe...

Fourth of July, My days starts before the sun comes up, in Montana, heading to Elk Grove , Ca.

Beautiful sunrise behind me this morning, then I head south thru Yellowstone , but as I almost get into the park, 1/4 mile from the entrance a Bald Eagle swoops down out of no where in the road and I hit him, yes I hit him, big huge bird bounced right off my front bumper, I felt so bad, until he flew away, even if just a little bit to nearby tree, so off I go and I spend the night in Jackpot, Nevada, at Catus Pete's, not sure about fireworks here, but I ma just happy the Eagle flew away.

Thank you God

Maybe it is slow because everyone has taken the same approach. I believe that people can't really be active members of more than one forum. If they have something to say, they say it one time, on one forum. No point saying it twice. I'd like people to be more loyal to this forum. I guess I'll keep using contests and give-aways to drive activity. In the long run it is worth it. But at some point I may just say "screw it" because it gets old people hanging out here for the contests and other places to engage in dialogue.

It seems websites have specialized. e-Ponies does contests and e-Ponies' picks well, but not blogging. God knows that I have tried in the Capper's Corner to get dialogues going. It's a niche audience here with its own agenda that is different from the blogger sites. There may be something to it. There might be more substance to this site. The message might be if you're so good save the BS and show me your picks.

After a few years of discussions, the F-1 race is on !!!!!! 300,000+ is the estimated count of vistors !!!! lots of $$$$$$$ 3* hotels are running $400.00 a night and up with a 3 or 4 night min. 6hr. time diff. for most of the Euros a real fun time for most of us locals for sure, I am not a fan of any type of motor racing (if it is not 2 legged or 4 leggd I pass) oh well a busy weekend, so I plan to stay close to home and avoid the rukus.

I didn't want to call any of their classmates parents yet to see if any of our friends have been taken. My fear is i have played and laughed with some of those young souls taken well before their time.
I am still shaking as am typing, tears in my eyes.

Downside is no Turfway Park or online betting accounts. The Georgia legislature is getting close to allowing a vote, but it hasn't happened yet.

My sister lives in GA. It's not as nice as Kentucky but it's not bad. People are nice there.

If you have a fairly modern iPhone or Android, you should be able to use it as a mobile hotspot from anywhere. It'll save you the money of paying the hotel for their crappy (usually) wifi.
