Next Guest Handicapper Contest.

Our Guest Handicapper will pick 6 to 8 races from the race card of their choice for play on Saturday. The Guest Handicapper will also pick The Race of the Week to analyze and discuss from one of their selected 6 to 8 races. The Guest Handicapper will be the first to post their opinion in the discussion thread. Once their opinion has been posted, everyone else is invited to join in. We must be respectful of other opinions.

There will be two threads for this event. The Discussion thread and The Next Guest Handicapper Contest thread. In the Discussion thread, players are encouraged to post their picks before scratches as many times as they like. The idea is to be open minded about the discussion if someone else has made a good point. This does not apply to the Contest thread. In the Contest thread, the first post is your one and final decision.

In the Contest thread, posts are to be made stating the race number first, followed by your top choice for a fantasy $2.00 Win/Place/Show bet, your second choice should your top choice scratch, your third choice should both your first and second horse scratch. If all three horses scratch, you lost your bet without a refund. The post should look something like this:

R4: 3 (8-2)

Ties will be broken by first to post.

Coupled entries won't be scratched unless both entries are scratched.

Should a player trying to extend their winning streak break even then they'll get a push to the following week to try again. For example- had HandycapMike7 broke even and earned $42.00 for 7 races of $2.00 WPS betting, it wouldn't break his streak or add to his winning streak. He would just try again next week to increase his winning streak.

All teams must register to play by Wednesday 8 PM EST.
Teams may register by the week, or once only as a regular every week playing team. Please indicate when registering which way your team is playing, by the week or not.
Teams playing by the week will be expected to sign-up every week.
Should a regular weekly team intend to skip a week, please let us know by the Wednesday deadline.
A minimum of 6 teams will be needed for the team contest to be invoked.
A minimum of 12 players will be needed to invoke the individual player contest.
Team members will be automatically added into the individual contest.
A player may play on a different team each week, but can only play on one team per week.

The rules are pretty much the same. Teams can drop in and out on any week and play as they like as can individuals. Teams can make one post for their entire team or post individually. The only concern covers tie breakers for the individual contest. Should two team mates tie, then the one who made the post gets the first tie breaker. After that should the tie be between the other two team mates it goes to the first listed.

The preferred method to transfer cash prizes is PayPal. I will snail mail checks.

The game is the same:

$2.00 fantasy WPS tickets on the selected races
Highest total wins for each catagory, individual and team.
Tie breaker is first post. A teams last post is considered their post.
To get into the Hall of Fame and collect the prize, the winning individual or team from the previous week needs to be profitable the following week.
Our Guest Handicapper still picks the track, the races, and the Race of the week with a few exceptions like the triple crown, Arlington Million, and Breeders' Cup Classic.

Enjoy

All races must have 5 or more horses.
Six of the races have to have fields of 7 or more.
PM me your selected track and I will post it.

Thanks

The rule of 20% or less chance of showers still holds. Thunder storms will not be accepted at any percent even with only a 1% chance of happening.

Starting with the August 25, 2012 contest, the team or single winner must be profitable on the week they win to qualify for the Hall of Fame and cash prizes challenges the following week. They still will be our team of the week and guest handicapper.

After Gremlin Lad and team offThePace try to get into the Hall of Fame on Nov 17, it will take the winner/challanger two profitable weekends in a row to get in from now on. That is a total of three profitable weekends in a row. They have to be profitable when they win and profitable two weekends after.

Good luck this weekend.

I'm restating the above so that there isn't any confusion:

For a single to get into the Hall of Fame they must do the following:
* Win the Next Handicapper Contest while being profitable.
* Be profitable the following two weekends.

For a team:
* Win the Team contest while being profitable.
* Be profitable, with all the original team members present, the following two weekends.

There is a $25.00 cash prize for the singles, but no cash prize for the teams at this moment. The teams will be inducted into our Hall of Fame also and will have bragging rights.
