COLONIAL DOWNS selections for THURSDAY June 14th - 1st Post 7:00pm EDT are below.
Selections posted were handicapped based on making multi-race wagers such as DOUBLEs, Pick-3s and Pick-4s using all three (3) listed for each race in each leg.
Recapping selections from Sunday, June 10th had 6 winners (4 Top Selections) with $2 WIN pay-offs being $3.60 (1st race), $6.60 (2nd ), $2.80 (3rd), $7.40 (4th), $3.60 (6th) and $3.60 (8th). Three consecutive BEST BET of the Day winners (4 3-0-0) as this one got bet as if he were Secretariat, down from 8-5 M/L to 2-5 and won easily as well paying a paltry $2.80 2.10 2.10 while the LONGSHOT PICK (4 0-0-2) was in contention throughout the race, had no excuses and was only good enough for 3rd @ 11-1, while just Ύ length behind the winner and returned $6.20 to SHOW.
Highlight/Lowlight Race of the Night: 3rd race is restricted to VA bred maidens. There are only six entered. They are a combined 0 for 29 but more amazing only one of them (#2 Snowbuster) has ever hit the board (3rd by 13Ύ lengths in his most recent start) in their career. This must be the reason this 7 year old is 6-5 M/L favorite?! Imagine just how bad the others are. One thing I feel pretty strongly about,, is it will take the winner more than 2 minutes to complete the 1 1/8 mile event. By comparison Secretariat ran 1/8th mile further in the 1973 Kentucky Derby in less than 2 minutes. Even low-level Claimers can run 1 1/8 miles on the grass on average 12 seconds under 2 minutes (i.e. 1:48). They could time this race with a sun dial!
FYI - Selections may be updated AFTER early scratches are announced. Unfortunately, Colonial Downs waits until about 30 minutes prior to 1st race post to release them.
