Colonial Race 5 not betting but if i did this would be my bet
Colonial ™ MC 7500 1 Mile. (IT) 3upF&M Monday, June 23, 2008 Race 5
1, Honey's Meadow: Drops in class and in stretches out in her second off the layoff . Made a slight move to leaders in her last but should not be a factor today.
Grammatelli: Hasn't raced in nearly a year and ships in from Charlestown. Training session are nice and she could run well enough to threaten for the superfecta.
3, Elberton Lily: Drops in and cuts back and could win. She'll have to be goaded into going faster and I don think she can do much better then she's already shown she can but she lucks out with a field that includes mostly sprinters and non turf runners.
4, Amazel Me: Second race off a long layoff and will have to stretch out. A relaxed pace can see her among leaders but as they hit the mile marker she should start to fade.
5, Early Hay: Can't go 5.5 furlongs and has proven she really can't go this longer. Drops way down in class and could run for lower gimmick spots based on that move alone versus this weak field..
6, Lipstick Warrior: Switches to turf and comes back on 1 days rest. She had four races in 2 months. That's something I don't like but she can be sharp enough to be included in the gimmicks at a price
7, Kiss Angel: Too slow for me only thing in her favor is she can pass tired runners but her speed figures are too low to make me think she can keep pace with these.
8, Irene Parker: Way too slow but is in a field full of slow runners
9, Jolly Sue: Stretches out and drops down in class. Her races before the layoff would absolutely turn me away from using her here. May enjoy running on turf enough to make a mild superfecta bid.
10, Meadow Call: Way too slow and I think she'd need a miracle to hit the board even with a field full of weak runners.
11, Braeside: She can challenge 3, Elberton Lily for the win today. Switches to turf but not truly bred for it. If she takes to turf can go a long way Loses Napravnik and this could hurt but my dads mantra of "bet the horse and not the rider" is sounding off in my head.
12, Bulgarian Miss: drops down in class and should be able to out finish most of the sprinters entered. Has turf and distance experience and while not good enough to win, can win if 3, Elberton Lily falters
