This is essentially useless if someone (like, oh say, me) only visits the board infrequently.
It wasn't broken to begin with, so the 'improvement', hasn't improved anything! REVERT REVERT!

Humburg,
I think the shortcut works the same, despite the new name and new location. It pretty much shows you everything since last time you were there. Besides, forgiving your badger-like disposition, we want you to visit more often.
"Geotool" was the name we had for the geology majors at Ole Miss when their program got deaccredited my senior year. Who would have thought they would have got their stuff together years later and produced a geologically inaccurate substitute for Google Earth.
Merry Christmas!
Liam

Gulfstream Park- January 31
Holy Bull Stakes
Bear's Rocket (3, 20-1) is a touch slow ; but beware of invaders from the north.
El Crespo (5, 12-1) figures to improve on dirt; not impossible.
Beethoven (11, 4-1) is dangerous if he clears outer post; tell Tchaikovsky the news.
Donn Handicap
Finallymadeit (1, 12-1) is the main speed from the fence unless either #4,8, or 10 try to speedpop him.
On Board Again (6, 20-1) is still eligible for his n3x condition, so step up in class for this race is a positive, not negative, sign. His recent pair of races evince a powerful performance today. (the extremely potent change of pace pattern)
Einstein (10, 5-2) has the best chance of winning this race, relatively speaking.
-
Both Bear's Rocket and Finallymadeit finished second at odds of about 30-1.
Aqueduct is featuring 7500 claimers, and horrible starter handicaps. Anything to fill out the fields.
Meanwhile, the slots at Aqueduct aren't in the ground, and already slots are being dreamed about at Belmont.

lolo good to see your alive.ha ha
when are you going to start giving out winners again?
-
With a pair of successful 30:1 place calls, getting winners is like having egg in our beers. Nice call Lolo!

I took the winter off, for the most part. Enough people are giving out selections on this forum nowadays, anyways.
Derby List
1. Friesan Fire (leader until March 14th Louisana Derby)
2. Theregoesjojo (More impressive than winner of Fountain of Youth; pinned in early from rail slot; big move late after swung wide while all other horses, except 1st and 3rd place finishers, looked like they couldn't even last 8 furlongs)
3. Old Fashioned (Next race 3/14 Rebel; obvious horse)
4. The Pamplemousse (Running in California hurts him, but must always respect speed)
5. Mr. Fantasy (Next race 3/7 Gotham; stock dropped because of impressive performances of #2 and #4)
6. Stardom Bound (Still class of field; next race 3/7 Santa Anita Oaks)
7. Beethoven (3rd place finisher in 'Youth'; inclusion of this horse in list allows for numerous musical puns in future weeks)
8. Quality Road (Nice win in 'Youth', but beat sad field, as a look at the head-on replay down the stretch will confirm)
9. Haynesfield (tested in Gotham this weekend; think he fails)
Major preparatory races this weekend: Gotham, Santa Anita Oaks

lolo , do you think that beethoven will run better at two turns?we know he likes churchilldowns.he was very washed out in the post parade last saturday.
-
Yes, it is quite possible that he will.
Anybody can pick the winner of a prep race and say he's ready for the Derby. Horse won, after all.
But if you want a nice price on a horse, you look for horses who finished behind the winner, who had trip trouble or persevered against track biases.

Gotham
Discussion, in post position order:
Naos (1, 20-1) would be in a good position to swoop up late after possible pace collapse; price is square.
Russell Road (2, 20-1) possess a sprinter's speed and will likely tuck in behind the main speeds in this race (#5 and #6)
Masala (3, 5-1) would improve coming from Florida; dangerous.
Axel Foley (4, 15-1) is trending downwards on figures, though one must wonder if poor showing at end of last race could be excused.
Mr. Fantasy (5, 7-2) is fleet of foot; who leads?
Haynesfield (6, 5-1) is fleet of foot; who leads?
Imperial Council (7, 5-2) is also fleet of foot with possession of a sprinter's speed, but would be well advised to tuck in behind #5 and #6. Bad bet if favored.
I Want Revenge (8, 3-1) debuts on dirt; joker in deck.
Giant Ryan (9, 50-1) appears outclassed.
I could only eliminate one horse (#9) from winning this race.
Selections
I would not bet this race. With that in mind: 1-2-5. Use 3,6,7 in exotic wagers.
